I Intended to Come Back

  • I only meant a hiatus from content for the DAY, people, not for any prolonged period of time.  Only while the baby was not napping.  She’s napping now.  (I love it when she naps.)
  • I had the weirdest door to door salesman here today.  He told me all about his time on the streets and his drug and gang experiences, then showed me a list of magazines or something (they looked like magazine titles but I had never heard of one of them) and then went away again.  He didn’t ask me to buy anything.
  • How polite are you to door to door salespeople?  I am only moderately polite.  I do not like it that they are coming to my house to bother me with something that I do not want.  I mean, I think it is a terrible job to do, but that doesn’t mean you are bothering me any less.
  • I also hate how I have to stand in my doorway for ten minutes and keep fending off dogs while salesmen try to sell me on something that I am not going to buy.
  • And why do they think that a laminated piece of paper with their name at the top makes them any more official?  Anyone could make one of those.
  • I am feeling much better today, thank you.  I took a bunch of benedryl last night and it helped.
  • Elizabeth and I went to IKEA today.  I spent more money than I intended to spend, but I did get all the stuff I wanted to decorate the guest room and some Christmas presents for people.
  • After Elizabeth wakes up, I am going to go into the guest room and decorate it.  I bought comforters that surprised me.  They aren’t my typical style, but I think I am going to end up liking them a lot.
  • I also bought a fancy lamp and a nightstand.  I am trying to actually decorate this time, instead of just having things that are serviceable.
  • At IKEA, we had lunch.  I got the meatball plate (cheap and tasty) and a side of mac and cheese for Elizabeth.  (She does not approve of mashed potatoes at the moment.)  We sat down, Elizabeth looked at my plate of meatballs and shouted “I need a ball!”  Then she ate half the mac and cheese and a good portion of meatballs.
  • Elizabeth has also recently started wording things with “I yike”.  So it is “I yike to get out and play!” and “I yike to have a snack.”  She is all about the snacks lately too, perhaps she is growing even taller?
