Friday Night Leftovers

  • We are going to Disney World!  Today!  Actually, we are just driving to Florida today.  We aren’t going to Disney World for another couple of days.
  • Elizabeth had a really busy day yesterday with playgroup and errands and I didn’t offer her a nap because it didn’t work with the day’s activities.  She overruled my decision.

  • The picture is from her evening movie watching period.  So, yes, she is sleeping an hour before her bedtime.  I let her sleep for about twenty minutes and then I woke her up.  (And gave her a cookie, I am not totally cruel.)  She went to bed on time anyway, even though she didn’t fall asleep quite as quickly as she does on non-nap days.
  • I have soooo  much to do today.  We are picking Matt up from work this afternoon and leaving for Florida from there.  (Yes, driving until midnight, groovy.)  So today, I need to:
  • Clean the house (it’s a wreck, I didn’t clean last night like I normally do, and no, I don’t have an acceptable excuse).
  • Do the last load of laundry.
  • Put away the diapers.  (After I move them to the dryer and dry them, they are still in the washer from last night.)
  • Take out the trash.
  • Pack Matt’s suitcase.  (He put all his clothes out for me, I just have to load them up.)
  • Pack my suitcase.  (I haven’t started yet.)
  • Pack for the dogs.
  • Clean the car.
  • Load the car.
  • Install the DVD player in the car.  (Borrowed for the trip from Elizabeth’s best friend Isaac.)
  • Pack the DVDs for the trip.
  • Pack the snacks for the trip.
  • Pack all the medications/vitamins.
  • Pack Elizabeth’s bed stuff.  (After her nap, she needs it until then.)
  • Take out the upstairs trash.
  • I decided that Elizabeth should take a nap today.  Otherwise she is likely to fall asleep in the car as soon as we start at about 3:00pm.  And then she’ll sleep for seven or eight hours.  And then when we arrive, tired, in Florida, she’ll be refreshed and ready to party.  So the plan is to try to keep her awake until after we stop for dinner around seven tonight and then she can sleep.
  • I’m taking my laptop on this trip, but we’ll see how much time I have to use it.
