His Name in the Sand

I think the reason that telling all of Luke’s birth story was so important to me is that it is all that he gets.  He doesn’t get to grow up and have a whole story.  So it was important to me to tell all of the story that he did get to have.

In the same way, seeing him as real and having the rest of the world recognize his existence is really important too.

I’ve known Carly’s blog for a long time.  She writes the names of dead babies in the sand and takes amazing photographs.  She does this because she lost her son, Christian, and she does it for anyone who asks.  She also does it for each person who asks, even if she’s already done the same name before.  I made a request a few days ago and while I was sleeping last night, she posted this.  For me and for my Luke.
