Day Four: What has most surprised you about being an adult? What have you learned about yourself through blogging?
I don’t know what has surprised me the most about being an adult. I suppose that I actually don’t feel like an adult a lot of the time. I always feel like I am pretending when I do things like go to the post office, drop off dry cleaning, and make appointments.
If I go back a long time, I am also surprised that my parents were quite reasonable. For example, I thought my mother was completely and totally unfair and ridiculous to not let me walk to school on my own. You know, when I was in kindergarten. On busy roads with traffic. I was also totally convinced that I should own a Barbie Dreamhouse and one of those little kid cars that you could actually drive around in.
Blogging has made me into a much better person. It’s made me see things through a lot of different perspectives and given me a lot more understanding. It’s also helped me to know myself better and work through things in a much quicker and healthier way.
