Intelligence or Just Bad Parenting?

Today, we had to leave the house by about 8:30am.  Elizabeth woke up this morning at about 8:10am.  (Which I am sooo not complaining about.)  But it meant that we didn’t have time to make a nice, nutritious breakfast and eat it properly at the table.  Because we, um, do that.  Riiiiight.  All the time…

So I got her dressed and we got into the car.  We stopped at McDonalds, where I got an egg mcmuffin and I got Elizabeth a sausage mcmuffin.  We really don’t go there that often, probably about once a month.  (I was thinking about it this morning and I think the last time we were at McDonalds for breakfast was around my birthday.  So like six weeks ago?)  Elizabeth loves sausage and cheese, but she usually doesn’t eat the whole English muffin.  So I opened hers up to cool and when it was cool enough, I handed it to her with the top of the English muffin missing.

She looked at it, turned it over, and demanded “where’s da other muffin?!?”

I don’t know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my two year old knows exactly what is supposed to be on a McDonalds’ breakfast sandwich.
