Texas Bound

Elizabeth and I leave tomorrow for a trip to visit my parents.  And then while we are there, I am quietly sneaking away for two days to go to The Blathering.  I’ve wanted to go every year, but this is the first year I’ve been able to.

Anyway, I am spending today being cranky because I hate the day before a trip.  I have to do a whole bunch of unpleasant work, like all the laundry and cleaning, plus pack.  (I also need to clean out the refrigerator.  Don’t let me forget that.)  I finally gave up and stuck Elizabeth in front of a movie so that I can actually get some things done.

We are flying Delta tomorrow and they want me to pay to check a bag.  I am highly irritated by this.  Our plane tickets were really expensive (this is the first time we’ve flown that Elizabeth needed an Official Ticket) and I am really bothered by them trying to get another $50 out of me.  So I am just going to carry everything on.  With both of us flying, we can have two carry on bags and two personal items.  Of course, with Elizabeth being one of those two, I have to do all the carrying.  (Plus her car seat, don’t forget that she’s flying in her car seat.  Oh and her.  She practically counts as a carry on herself.)  I don’t know how well this is going to go.

So, off to clean the playroom, the kitchen, and the living room and then hope that Elizabeth stays entertained enough by her movies that they actually stay clean so that I can pack.
