Friday Night Leftovers- End of Christmas Edition

  • All my plans for today got canceled, so I am going to take down the Christmas decorations today instead.  Today is the twelfth day of Christmas and normally I wait until tomorrow, but it will be convenient today.
  • Also, I am going to go to the craft store and see if I can find the things I need.  I tried to order them online yesterday, but there were too many options and I simply closed the browser.  It was TOO MUCH.  (Elizabeth says “it was too much” all the time.)
  • I’ve gotten to the point where I can no longer check the spam folder for legitimate messages before deleting them.  I offer you my great apologies if a real comment gets in there occasionally.  My spam folder is bringing in a couple hundred a day now.  And apparently, there are a lot of women out there who find me attractive and would like to get with me.  Or so my many emails and comments would have me believe.
  • Oh, the last cup of hot chocolate in the fancy Christmas mug.  Sigh.
  • Elizabeth just walked over to find me stirring the hot chocolate in the kitchen and said “Oh! Are you making me hot chocolate!?!”  So I made her a little cup too.
  • I realized that all of my Christmas mugs except for one are snowmen.
  • I handmade nearly all of the Christmas presents this year.  And there are a few people who need to acknowledge that they at least RECEIVED the Christmas present from me or they will be taken off the list for next year.  MONTHS, I worked on these things.  MONTHS!
  • I will tell all of you about all the presents I made soon, I am just waiting for confirmation that the Box That Went Astray in the mail has been appropriately distributed so that I don’t ruin any surprises.
  • Elizabeth got new placemats from my mom for Christmas (Pottery Barn ones! Fancy ones! Very Hungry Caterpillar ones!) and they are sooooo nice.  I had no idea what I was missing by using the really cheap placemats for her that I bought from Walmart nine years ago when we didn’t have any money.
  • We have a weird wall niche in our house.  It used to have a really ugly rod in it for a wall hanging, but I took that down and put up our Advent Activities Calendar there.  Now that Christmas is over, I have to come up with something else for in there.  Any ideas?  I am thinking pictures.  Maybe some big canvases?  (If you click this link, there is a picture of the niche with the Advent Calendar in it.)
