*But not really.
Every time I go to the grocery store, I swipe my credit card while the cashier is ringing up my groceries. Then I put my card back in my wallet and put my wallet back in my pocket. When the transaction is complete, the cashier asks to see my card and my ID. I get my wallet back out and hold out my card and my ID. The cashier compares my name on my ID to the name on my credit card. A really conscientious cashier will even glance at the picture on my ID and compare it to my actual face to see if it is really me.
However, there is one flaw in this system. They never once check to see if the card I have swiped is the same one I am showing them. To use someone else’s card, all I would have to do would be to also have my own card and just show them that one. Every week, I am tempted to try it with Matt’s card, just to see if I could get away with it.
