Cruise, Day One

(P.S. When my blog broke, I lost most of my archives. It sucks but it is fine. Kate is fantastic and she got some things back (and fixed the blog in the first place) but a lot is gone. Sigh.)

Anyway, we went on a cruise! A Disney Cruise, seven days out of Port Canaveral with a Star Wars Day at Sea. It was our third cruise and I think our best so far. (We did a five day last year and a three day in November as a quick trip before the chaos of the holidays.) Since we live so close to Port Canaveral, we don’t even have to leave our house until about an hour and a half before boarding time. It’s a pretty nice perk.

First view of the ship as we arrive
Ryan went to the bathroom so I took pictures of the girls while we waited
Waiting to board. They like to do group hugs and yell “GROUP HUG!”
Of course I made everyone matching outfits.
Elizabeth ate off the adult menu the whole time, usually steak.
We went immediately to lunch upon boarding, because priorities.
My appetizer. Potato and leek soup and SO GOOD.
If I ever meet who makes the sauces on these cruises, I intend to invite them to live with us.
Kids club. Alex only likes it if we go with her.
This is one of our rooms- we had two with a door between. Both inside staterooms, cheapest category.
This couch flips down into a bed. Alex slept on this one with a bedrail.
Bathroom
Alex swinging the hammer of Thor. Thor himself was instructing them on swinging techniques.
We had a virtual porthole- a fake one but with a live view out of a real one.
First ice cream cone of the cruise!
Double cone, everyone. It keeps it from dripping on their hands.
Alex liked these “throne chairs.”
Ryan had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles every single night after dinner.

Every night there was a new towel animal. And chocolates. I hoarded the chocolates to eat now that I am home and no one brings me fancy desserts every night.
