Last night I made a specific effort to count the night wake-ups (sorry, Twitter!) and there were seven.
The thing is, he is sleeping much better now that he is medicated. His shortest stretch last night was about an hour and most of them were an hour and a half. He even did one two hour and forty-five minute stretch. (This is in about a twelve hour time period and it is possible that my math doesn’t add up correctly, but I am tired.) I even worked on getting him to sleep in his crib some last night. (Which may have been a short term sleeping mistake, but we need our guest room back for guests soon.)
So the real question is: how many times did he wake up when he was screaming from reflux pain and was getting up every forty-five minutes if I consider seven wake-ups to be an improvement? I probably don’t want to know.

Oy. It’s all relative. Here’s hoping that as the reflux gets under control, the waking become fewer… like none until morning (hey, I can wish, right?)
My boys were both frequent wakers for the first 7 weeks or so. They also grew rapidly. I’ll bet that’s what’s going on with Mister Ryan. Rest when you can!
Seriously, I almost cried for you.
How well do I remember the whole getting up 5-6 times a night to feed a baby that had spit up all his milk and was now STARVING. Poor Ben was never really able to sleep lying flat. We even put one of those little incline wedges in his crib, but then he would just squirm and scoot until he was down at the bottom again, spitting up and screaming. You have my sympathies. But he’s adorable, so that kinda makes up for some of it, right?
Well… I’m certainly glad he improved!
I certainly sympathize with you. Mine is 8 months and is still getting up 2 and 3 times a night with reflux (and he is medicated also). :( Ha! I can now tell that I am getting used to getting up at all hours of the night. Boo!
Praying you get some much needed rest!
Oh it really is all relative! People keep asking me how Ember sleeps. I say, “Pretty good! She only wakes like 3 or 4 times!” and they look at me like I have 4 heads. So happy the meds are helping and you can get back to having a happy baby. :)
