*But not alone, this is real life.
Ryan usually cries when I put him on the floor so that I can use the bathroom. Recently, however, I have discovered a solution.
Step one: Tie balloon to baby’s ankle.
Step two: Baby kicks legs.
Step three: Baby is amazed at his strength and power. The balloon MOVES, Mama, did you see that?
I have done extensive testing for you and the baby is always amazed. (The balloon slipped off his ankle tonight and he burst into betrayed tears when he lost it.)

I may not comment often, but I seriously think every comment I DO write is pretty much that you should write a parenting book. This is no exception, seriously! I would never think of this stuff.
Also, may Ryan keep that look in the last picture for LIFE! My husband feigned a ‘fake surprised’ face tonight, (pretending to be concerned when I tripped over my own two feet at a fancy dinner for the thousandth time) and I swear it was the exact picture Ryan has in that last picture! It will really come in handy if he ever has to pretend to be concerned in life.
What a great idea! I could have used this when my daughter was smaller!
Can I just say this is yet another example of why you are a great mother. Most of us with a baby Ryan’s age would either pee quickly and guiltily whilst we listened to him scream outside in his bouncy chair or pee on his feet accidentally whilst we struggle with the logistics of going to the toilet with a baby in a carrier. Thank you for the tip, I will pass on to all friends with small, babies and definitely use it if there comes a time where there is a baby number three in my life.
Well, I do all those things sometimes too. Or I just forget to pee. That’s probably the most frequent.
Ha- that diaper looks about half as big as Ryan! Too funny! :o)
Brilliant! I love learning about those “a-ha” parenting moments — people (including yourself!) can be awfully creative :)
GENIUS.
Ha! This is awesome.
That is one cute baby!
I love this idea.
Hell, I might tie a balloon to MY foot now.
That is so cute and darn clever!
You are a genius. For reals.
