Welcome to the Summer Block Party!
It’s summertime in the blogosphere and most of us are running around enjoying the extra daylight and (hopefully) a vacation or two. (I hope you are. Not me. I am not going on vacation this summer. We stay at home.) This can be a pretty quiet time on the interwebs (I am SO bored) so we decided to let you guys know that we are blogging this summer by throwing a summer block party! And since everyone likes presents, we decided to have a giveaway with lots of prizes and lots of chances to enter. Six bloggers teamed up with each other and AboutOne (Remember them? I did a review because they were pretty awesome.) to bring you:
So pull up a lounge chair, grab your pink yemonade, and join our block party!
THE PRIZES:
5 winners: will receive a one year subscription to AboutOne (A whole year! Not even kidding!)
1 winner: $25 Gift Card to Amazon.com compliments of AboutOne (I’m sorry, does anyone NOT need something from Amazon?)
1 winner: custom 125 x125 “blog bling button” from the blog loving world of Plaid House Designs (You can be a fancy blogger with a button too!)
1 winner: one dozen Frank’s Big One’s cookies, your choice of Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Pecan, or Chocolate Chip with Walnut (These are seriously good cookies, you guys! If you win this, I’d be happy to take these off your hands. And then I will eat them all. For breakfast.)
1 winner: adorable custom embroidered birthday shirt from Little Star Shop (Whoa, look how small that baby is in those pictures!)
1 winner: custom designed and made necklace from I’m Not THAT Pregnant (I totally wish I could win this, I need some more adult jewelry. One of my necklaces has Winnie the Pooh on it, I am not even joking.)
The giveaway is open to US residents only and you must provide a valid e-mail address. Each winner will have 72 hours to respond.
How to enter:
• Mandatory entry: Check out AboutOne’s site and leave a comment telling us what feature looks the most interesting to you.
**********
1 Bonus Entry:
• Follow my feed and leave a comment to that effect. You can Google Reader me, sign up via email, sign up three years ago in anticipation of the giveaway… Just have this blog delivered to you automatically in some way. (Seriously, I get a lot of Google hits for just my blog name, so I know lots of you check me the slow way.)
**********
1 Bonus Entry:
- Answer one of these Here We Go Again trivia questions in the comment section.
- What is Jen’s favorite soda?
- Would Jen prefer to read or to hike?
- How does Elizabeth still pronounce her own name even though she is obviously perfectly capable of saying Elizabeth?
- What is Jen’s birthday and name one of the other two Birthday Trio members?
- Name the movie that the Little Dog’s name comes from. (Your entry will be erased if you put the Little Dog’s actual highly Googleable name in the comment section.)
**********
2 BONUS ENTRIES:
• Sign up for AboutOne’s totally free trial and leave two comments letting us know you signed up. Here’s where I just want to point out that I don’t do many giveaways and such. I am doing this one because I really liked AboutOne when I did the review. It’s a product that I intend to use for many years and I honestly think it is good. But I did have to try it out before I actually realized how much I liked it. I mean, I liked the idea of it, but after I used it, I loved it. It’s handy and really user friendly.
Now let’s get this party started!!
There are TEN more ways to enter! Go to one of the other Summer Block Party Neighbor Blogs and find out how!
The giveaway will run from today through July 31st, so get your entries in! Remember to leave a separate comment for each way you enter so that all your entries will count.

I suspect you are having this contest simply to make us come out of hiding, but that’s ok because, Yay! Prizes! I checked out AboutOne’s site and I think the thing that most interests me is the address book. I have lost more address books to cell phones that suffered unexpected deaths than I can believe. I have started keeping one in my external hard drive but having one that couldn’t be lost to fire or theft might be appealing.
Ooh, ooh, Jen’s favorite soda is Caffeine Free Dr. Pepper! Just wanted to get that in first. I will now dutifully go check About One’s site and report back. :)
I should spread out my comments to increase my chances, but I didn’t want you to think I was slacking on the mandatory entry. I like the health record filing! With three toddlers, two of whom see the doctor at the same time usually, it’s easy to lose track!
(Edited note added in by Jen. I didn’t want to add a separate comment and mess up the counting for the prizes. But you will have an equal chance to win, no matter where you put your comments. For the best chance to win, you should enter on all six blogs because each blog has unique entries that you can’t get elsewhere. Fifteen total ways to enter. Five on the first blog you hit and then ten more, two on each additional blog.)
And because I really want to win a b-day onesie:
Bonus Entry No. 1 – You are now in my feed. I used to have the old blog in it and just never added this address.
And because I really, really want to win a b-day onesie:
Bonus Entry No. 2: Your birthday is June 2. Melissa is also part of the trio. I generally remember because mine is the 3rd :)
I like being able to track medical information on AboutOne.
You come to my Google Reader.
I would say your favorite soda, but that one is already taken! So I will say that you much prefer to read.
I actually already signed up for the free trial on AboutOne after you posted your review. Hope that still counts!
(Another edit by Jen: Yes, still counts!)
About One free trial 2nd entry.
I would love the Health piece. I never thought that I would not be able to remember everything my daughter has going on but sigh! I am forgetting and need help!
This would be a great asset!

I left my AboutOne comment on Kathy’s blog–and I DO subscribe to your fancy schmancy blog in Google Reader xoxo
Your birthday is June 2nd–you share it with Mel of SQ and Meghan of A Little Sweetness
Elizabeth calls herself Dibits =) Will do the rest of them later!
I have you in my Reader!
So exciting! The babysitter, caregiver section is my favorite. And, as you know, I have a membership that I very much love.
I’m going with the Dibits for the bonus! :)
Bonus, bonus: Dibits. I win!
Most interesting feature – being able to access records from anywhere. Word.
I’m an RSS devotee from forever ago. Not sure how long you’ve been blogging, but I found you before you were even pregnant with Elizabeth. How is it possible I’ve been reading you that long?
Caffeine Free Dr. Pepper.
Inferior to more “Classic” soda options (in my humble opinion).
:)
My favorite feature is that it is “auto-magically” created just like a Disney ride. ;p
I’m already subscribed to you because I’m a stalker/fan. ;-) (feeling sassy tonight I guess)

what i liked the most was the health record organizer. i’m interested in making my own personal health record because it is so important to have.
I really like the digital scrapbooking feature!
I follow your blog.
Required entry – With a household of five and frequent military moves, AboutOne would be great for this family to help keep everything in one secure location. Searching through boxes and file cabinets is not fun.
You would prefer to read over hiking.
Elizabeth calls herself Didbits
And, you are in my reader.
I love the idea of organizing all of the family’s info in one convenient place!
I love the medical records part and keeping everything in one place and being able to access it from any computer.
Bonus- I’ve followed you in Google reader for a LONG time!
Bonus question. Dibbits! and I LOVE it! lol
There are a lot of really cool things on AboutOne…especially for an organization junkie like myself. I really like the medical feature. It would be nice to have it all in one place.
I follow you through my Blogger feed.
Bonus entry…Elizabeth calls herself Dibits (cutest thing ever!).
I signed up for the free trial.
Dibits is her name. Regardless of what you, the parents think :-)
I am leaving my second comment for the free trial.
Yeah – Canadians can enter! Thanks for clarifying, Jen. I think that the online address book feature is great. I also love the fact that one can capture moments on the fly – the first time baby does x, etc. LOVE that.
I subscribe to you via Google Reader (and I always click through, promise!).
I LOVE that Elizabeth calls herself “Dibits”. Though it must have been terrifying, I got such a kick out of “unkabuncle Dibits”.
You would prefer to read
Can you delete the comment where I said hike, I forgot to delete it out of my comments before posting.
Elizabeth calls herself Dibits
I like that I can keep all the health records in there. Seriously, neither of my boys keep track of their records. I just 2 weeks ago had to go find all of my son that lives in Alaska immunizations for a work problem. *sigh* This way I could just click and look them up online instead of getting out their old baby book and checking.
Oh I follow you alright!! ;)
I am more of a lurker than anything but I have been following for a long time now!
Elizabeth calls herself – Dibits
My 2nd entry for signing up for the free trial!
Having all the medical records together. And organized. That would make the angel choir sing.
You’ve been in my Reader – does that still count?
Dibits! Caffiene Free Diet Dr. Pepper!
Signed up for free trial! I like the ability to store/preserve pictures. That is one of my greatest fears – losing all of my digital pics.
Signed up for free trial #2!
I like that AboutOne’s technology makes data entry fast and easy

My favorite feature is the babysitter information sheet. There’s always *something* I forget to tell a sitter.
I’m subscribed to your blog in Google reader.
Elizabeth calls herself Dibits (I think that is SO CUTE)

I think shareables feature looks interesting.
I love that you can keep track of receipts!
Elizabeth calls herself Dibits :)
Great ideas for organizing your education.
You prefer to read!
OK, those caregiver sheets would be awesome! Keeping track of the husband’s, mine and the baby’s various info would be so much easier! And the address book would be nice too – my spreadsheets are atrocious!
And Elizabeth calls herself Dibbits. Which is adorable.
I like all of the information that AboutOne would help organize about my life. I currently have no actual address book, a giant pile of receipts, etc. – I think you get the idea.
I follow you via Google Reader. I used to follow your old blog, but now I have finally re-subscribed! (I’ve been meaning to do so).
Address book feature.
prefer to read.
Ooh! I love the AboutOne address book! That would be super handy!!
You have been on my Google Reader for over a year!
Your favorite soda is Caffeine Free Diet Pepper!
I signed up for the free trial! This looks like fun!
Signed up for the trial x2!
Tracking the medical information is the most important feature to me. The address book would be nice too since I don’t ever sync my phone so half of my contacts are on my phone and half on the computer. Knowing I could get to them from my phone and pc would make it very easy!
I follow you on google reader, although I have to click over to see the whole post =)
I think the digital scrapbooking looks neat

AboutOne’s health info section is most appealing to me. My daughter has LOTS of health stuff going on and keeping track of it all is a nightmare.
1st bonus entry: You are in my reader and have been for ages.
2nd bonus entry: Elizabeth says that her name is “Dibits” and it’s adorable.
